Lonessa
2001
Lonessa is a registered Canadian Trakehner mare that was born at Affluent Farms. She is being kept to further the bloodlines of her dam, Leonessa, recently sold and in foal to a local Trakehner stallion named Deacon.

Leonessa was a very affectionate mare purchased in 1999 to increase
the broodmare herd but to add some more refined Warmblood lines to the
breeding stock. Leonessa shares bloodlines with the Olympic calibre
eventer mare, Larissa. Larissa is also sired by the stallion Target
and has been ridden by Bruce Gregory Mandeville in the Olympics in 2000
and 2004. Target is a half brother to Abdullah, a former Olympic jumper
stallion and was sired by Pregel, a dresssage stallion.

Lonessa will
carry on those bloodlines as well as her Thoroughbred sire's line. Lonessa's
sire's name is "At the Flood." She
is only 15.2 hh so will not be taken for a C.S.H.A. inspection at the
present time. Instead, I intend to breed her to Trakehner stallions to
increase the size, athleticism and typiness of the babies as Lonessa's
temperament, movement and athleticism is exceptional. Her future
offspring will hopefully have the size, temperament and movement
that will some day allow the fillies to be approved as Canadian
Sport Horses like their grand dam, Leonessa.
