About Affluent Farms
Affluent Farms is a small breeding operation that began with a dream. When Vicki McKague and Mark Keller of Teeswater, Ontario purchased an R.C.M.P. broodmare in 1995 from the first Royal Canadian Mounted Police auction, they could never have imagined the success that their purchase would achieve. Their purchase was a registered Canadian Sport Horse broodmare and police horse named Bonny.
Bonny has proven herself to be an exceptional producer of outstanding foals
such as Dilemma by Diamant, and Rigaletto by Reipo, renamed Highlander by his
owner. Highlander won the 2003 Lieutenant Governor's Cup class at the Royal
Agricultural Winter Fair and came 3rd in the Governor General's Cup, among
his many winnings. Dilemma was 4th in the Governor General's Cup and 10th in
the Lieutenant Governor's Cup in his 3rd year against 40 other registered animals
of various breeds. It speaks well of our Canadian-bred C.S.H.A. horses.
About Bonny
Bonny is a 16.2-1/2 hh 75% Thoroughbred with 25% Clydesdale, the original Canadian Hunter, which gives her foals wonderful temperaments, athleticism and good bone. Dilemma, Bonny's 1998 colt, is now owned by a young dressage rider in Quebec who is presently showing him with much success and the former owners/breeders of Highlander, Bonny's 2003 colt, know that great things are also yet to come of him with his new young owner. Affluent Farms still owns Dash by Diamant and out of Bonny who is busily qualifying for the R.A.W.F. this November. Watch him at the next qualifying show on October 6th at Twinholm Stable where he has been recieving excellent training from Roy and Sue Fish in Campbellville.
